character: Scholar
gender: Male
age: 18-25
style: Drama
length: 1 min
background info: A professor poses an interesting theory to a student to think outside the box.
monologue:
What’s that you say professor? God created everything so he must have created evil?
Let me ask you something. Does cold exist? Yes? Actually professor, cold is simply the lack of heat, according to laws of physics. Because absolute zero is the total absence of heat. It is only a word we have created to describe this.
Sir? Does darkness exist? Yes? Once again sir, you are wrong. Darkness is simply the absence of light. Light we can study, darkness we can’t. It is immeasurable. You just measure how much light illuminates it.
One more thing, does evil exist? Yes sir, I know you already stated that, but alas, you are incorrect again. At least it does not exist upon itself. You see, evil is purely the absence of God. It’s like cold and darkness, a word used to descried the lack of God. He did not create evil, it’s only the lack of God’s love in man’s heart.
What’s that professor? My name? Albert Einstein.
